IRS Website for How to Get Your Economic Impact Payment

Most people will not have to do anything to get the economic impact payments. But some people who are not required to file income tax returns will want to file an income tax return in order to receive their economic impact payments. If you are not required to file an income tax return but you are on social security or are a railroad retiree you will receive your payment without having to take any action.

Although most people will receive their payment automatically, there are some people who are not required to file income tax returns and are not on social security or a railroad retiree. This group of people needs to take steps to receive their economic impact payment. As stated above, one option is to file the 2018 or 2019 federal income tax return and include direct deposit information. The above link will take you directly to the place on the IRS website to enter information about yourself so the IRS knows to send you an economic impact payment and where to send it to you.
